Haiti is located on the western third of the island of Hispaniola and is a mountainous region. The population is made up of close-knit families. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with 80% of the population living in poverty. Over half of the population practices Voodoo.*
Through diocesan connections ADLW is excited to partner with the Reverend Jocelyn Joseph and our Anglican brothers and sisters in Haiti and form the Living Word Mission of Haiti. We will help to oversee eleven congregations meeting throughout Haiti:
- St. Paul’s of Gonaïves
- St. George of Hinche
- Good Samaritan of Marmelade
- St. Mattieu Port-Margot
- La Resurrection of Cap-Haitien
- St. Mattias of Hatte-Rocher
- Mont Carmel of Port-au-Prince
- St. Augustine of Cayes
- St. Jean Baptiste of Cayes
- St. Jacques of Verretes
- St. Michel Archange et tous les anges of Gros-Morne
- St. Jean Evangeliste de Port-de-Paix
- St. Marie Madeleine de Passereine
